Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Knowledge of infection control principles
• Ability to prioritize multiple patient care needs
• Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic testing and exam room setup

Responsibilities

• Perform preliminary ophthalmic examinations and explain testing procedures to patients
• Assist providers with post-op surgery patients and ocular injections
• Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic diagnostic equipment
• Clean and sterilize equipment per infection control policies
• Stock exam rooms and work areas with supplies and manage expired items
• Educate clinical/technical staff on ophthalmic diagnostic tests
• Precept Ophthalmic Tech team members or externs as requested by leadership
• Provide back-up support for other departments as needed
