Job summary

Byers Eye Institute at Stanford Health Care is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician II COA to provide technical ophthalmic and administrative support in a multi-specialty practice. You will obtain medical histories, perform tests, and assist with minor procedures under supervision.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and an Associate Degree or equivalent, with COA and BLS certifications preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Associate Degree or equivalent mix of education and experience.
• Minimum one year as ophthalmic technician in a high-volume setting.
• BLS certification required; COA certification upon hire and renewed before expiry.

Responsibilities

• Document patient histories and ocular data in the medical record.
• Perform tests including visual acuity, autorefractometry, tonometry, and OCT.
• Assist physicians during minor procedures and prepare instruments.
• Manage scheduling, referrals, and billing-related tasks.
• Ensure equipment, supplies, and rooms are clean and ready.
• Provide patient education and coordinate care with staff.
