Job summary

Qualifications

• Minimum one year experience as an ophthalmic technician in a high-volume setting.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology of the visual systems helpful.
• Skill in acquiring accurate medical history, measuring, and recording visual acuity, and tonometry.
• Ability to work with Microsoft Word & Excel software.
• Ability to type with speed and accuracy.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Document, record, and update patient’s ocular and medical history in EMR.
• Perform tests such as visual acuity, autorefractometry, lensometry, tonometry, topography, and visual fields.
• Assist with minor surgical procedures by preparing instruments and medications.
• Coordinate test results with physicians and provide patient education.
