Job summary

Gundersen Health System in La Crosse, WI, is hiring an Ophthalmic Assistant/Tech to join our eye care team. You will provide a quality optical experience to patients and guests while supporting Ophthalmologists and Optometrists across our optometry locations.

Minimum qualifications include a COA certification, a COT certification within 18 months of hire, and 3–4 years of relevant experience. High school diploma required; 36-hour work week with no weekends or holidays.

Qualifications

  • 3-4 years relevant work experience including one year as Certified Ophthalmic Assistant.
  • COA certification by JCAHPO is required.
  • COT certification by JCAHPO must be obtained within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a quality optical experience to our patients and guests.
  • Assist at Emplify optometry locations including multiple communities.
  • Work 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with no weekends or holidays.

What You'll Do
  • Work 36 hours each week Monday - Fridays, Days No weekends or holidays
  • Location : La Crosse
  • Opportunities to assist at all Emplify optometry locations including Viroqua, Onalaska, Tomah, Waukon, Decorah, Prairie du Chien, Black River Falls, Whitehall, Winona, Wabasha, Sparta, Hillsboro, and Friendship
  • Provide a quality optical experience to our patients and guests
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 3-4 years relevant work experience to include one year of experience as a Certified Ophthalmic Assistant working with an Ophthalmologist or Optometrist
  • Required: Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certified by JCAHPO
  • Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT) certified by JCAHPO within 18 months of hire date
