Vision Innovation Partners in Elkridge, MD is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. You will assist providers with diagnostic procedures and handle related administrative tasks, with on‑the‑job training offered.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus experience in medical settings and proficiency with EMR and MS Office. Compensation includes benefits and potential education reimbursement.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience in medical field preferred (medical assistant, scribe, etc.).
  • Experience with EMR tools and MS Office.
  • Eye care experience is a plus, ophthalmic technician or scribe preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories and verify information.
  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests such as tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy.
  • Use Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
  • Inform ophthalmologist about changes in vision or eye health.
  • Dilate eyes for examinations.
  • Explain proper use of eye drops and medications.
  • Explain contact lens care and usage.
  • Assist with inventory management.
