Job summary

EyeSouth Partners' Eye Center of Texas seeks an ophthalmic technician to assist physicians across multiple locations in the Houston area. You will perform clinical tests and document patient data in the EMR to support high-quality ophthalmic care.

Responsibilities include taking ocular histories, recording visual acuity, administering medications, and assisting with in-office procedures. A High School Diploma and Nextech/ICP experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Reviews patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Performs testing ordered by doctor and determined by exam type/history.
• Acts as a medical scribe and enters data into EMR.
• Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
• Administers topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assists with simple in-office procedures and informed consent.
• Maintains exam rooms and supports patient education.
• Complies with procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Review inventory and supplies and report needs.
• Participate in daily team huddles and meetings.
• Report potential errors to supervisor/Compliance Officer.
• Contribute to team by completing additional tasks as needed.
• Maintain professional and cooperative attitude.
