Job summary

Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to support physicians in a busy outpatient clinic. You will gather patient data, perform tests such as visual acuity, visual field, refractions, tonometry, and assist with procedures while maintaining accurate EMR records.

Under supervision, you will work with a team to ensure high-quality patient care, learn ophthalmic equipment, and pursue COA certification within 18 months of hire.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• COA certification preferred but not required.
• 1–3 years of Ophthalmic Assistant or COA experience preferred.
• Proficiency in refractometry and tonometry.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician by gathering patient data.
• Perform visual acuity and visual field testing.
• Conduct diagnostic testing and ophthalmic procedures as needed.
• Maintain patient records and EMR entries.
• Operate ophthalmic equipment and manage inventory.
• Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure quality care.
