Job summary

Georgia Retina, a leading retina specialty practice in the Southeast, seeks an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists and optometrists. You will perform clinical tests, document patient history, and assist during examinations, maintaining EMR entries with accuracy and care.

The role emphasizes strong communication, teamwork, and adherence to protocols in a fast-paced setting with multiple Metro Atlanta locations.

Qualifications

• Ophthalmic or optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Perform tests ordered by the doctor based on exam type and patient history.
• Act as a medical scribe and enter data into electronic medical records.
• Take ocular and systemic histories and record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures and obtain informed consent.
• Educate patients and maintain exam room cleanliness.
• Adhere to all practice protocols and regulatory requirements.
