Job summary

Georgia Eye Partners is seeking an ophthalmic technician to assist ophthalmologists and optometrists by gathering data on ocular health and performing clinical tests. You will enter data into electronic medical records and help ensure accurate charting.

The role requires strong communication skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced eye care setting, and experience with ophthalmic or optometric testing; Nextech/ICP experience is a plus and you will support patient education and daily clinic

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Nextech/ICP experience strongly preferred.
• Ophthalmic and/or optometric technician experience preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills essential.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Review patient chart to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Perform testing ordered by doctor based on exam type, patient history, or complaint.
• Act as a medical scribe, entering data into the EMR.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications under physician direction.
• Assist with simple in-office procedures and ensure informed consent.
• Assist with patient education.
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of exam rooms.
• Comply with practice procedures and state/federal regulations.
• Report inventory needs and participate in team huddles and meetings.
