Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Bucks County, Sellersville, PA, is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. No prior ophthalmic experience required; on-the-job training will be provided to the right candidate who has a strong interest in eye care and medical support roles.

You will assist providers with diagnostic tests, take histories, and help with eye measurements using instruments like Humphrey and OCT, while also supporting patient education and inventory tasks.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience in the medical field (medical assistant, scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician, etc.).
  • Experience with EMR tools.
  • Proficient with MS Office tools (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Take medical histories and verify information.
  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests (tonometry, refraction, retinoscopy).
  • Use Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements.
  • Inform ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other issues.
  • Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam.
  • Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications.
  • Explain how to properly use contact lenses.
  • Assist with inventory management.

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
  • Take medical histories and verify information
  • Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
  • Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
  • Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
  • Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
  • Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
  • Explain how to properly use contact lenses
  • Assist with inventory management
