Job summary

Vision Innovation Partners in Bucks County, PA is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to support providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented tasks and related administrative work. On-the-job training is available to the right candidate passionate about patient care.

You will take histories, perform visual tests, use Humphrey and OCT tools, dilate eyes, and guide patients on eye drops and contact lenses while assisting with inventory. Competitive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in medical field or patient care roles preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR tools and MS Office is expected.

Responsibilities

• Take medical histories and verify information.
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests using ophthalmic equipment.
• Utilize Humphrey field analyzer and OCT for eye measurements.
• Inform ophthalmologist about changes to vision and eye health.
• Dilate eyes prior to examinations and instruct on eye drops.
• Explain contact lens use and assist with inventory management.

We are seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our patient care team. Our ideal candidate would have medical experience and passion for patient care. We are willing to provide on-the-job training and experience to the right candidate as they work towards a career path of an ophthalmic technician or scribe. In this role, your primary tasks are to assist the providers with diagnostic and treatment-oriented procedures and administrative tasks.

Responsibilities

What You Will Do:

• Take medical histories and verify information
• Perform visual function and diagnostic tests, such as applanation tonometry, refraction, and retinoscopy
• Utilize tools such as a Humphrey field analyzer and OCT to take eye measurements
• Inform the ophthalmologist about changes to a patient's visual acuity and other vision issues
• Dilate eyes to prepare patients for their eye exam
• Explain how to properly use eye drops or other medications
• Explain how to properly use contact lenses
• Assist with inventory management

Qualifications

What You Will Bring:

• High school diploma or GED certificate
• Previous experience in the medical field in roles such as a medical assistant, medical scribe, patient care technician, nursing assistant, pharmacy technician etc.
• Experience with EMR tools
• Proficient with MS Office tools (outlook, excel, word)
• Experience working as an ophthalmic technician or scribe is a plus
