Job summary

Hauser Ross Eye Institute in Sycamore, Illinois, is seeking a full-time Ophthalmic Technician I to join a respected eye care team. The role involves preparing patients for exams, performing pre-exam testing, and assisting physicians during minor procedures. Travel to other offices may be required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly with patients and staff.
• Basic computer literacy required.
• Willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet business needs.
• Must be able to walk and stand for eight hours.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients to see Ophthalmologist and/or Optometrist and conduct preliminary exam and collect medical history.
• Perform pre-exam testing including visual acuity, tonometry, and other ocular assessments.
• Assist with ophthalmic instruments, minor surgical and laser procedures.
• Assist with contact lens fitting and patient instruction.
• Travel to other locations as needed to support clinical needs.
