Job summary

The Eye Clinic of North Dakota in Bismarck, ND is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support ophthalmologists and optometrists in patient exams, tests, and treatment plans.

Responsibilities include assisting with eye exams, performing tests such as vision screenings, tonometry, and lensometry, maintaining patient records, educating patients, and ensuring equipment is clean and ready for use. Full-time, Monday–Friday with occasional travel.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• COA certification or willingness to obtain certification.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work quickly and accurately in a busy clinic.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologist and optometrist in conducting eye exams and tests.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as vision screenings, lensometry, and tonometry.
• Administer eye medications as directed by providers.
• Help educate patients on proper eye care and treatment plans.
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
• Ensure equipment and supplies are properly sanitized and maintained.
