Job summary

OHSU Casey Eye Institute in Vancouver, WA is hiring an Ophthalmic Technician to assist physicians with preliminary screening and testing of patients at our Casey Eye Institute, Vancouver, WA satellite clinic. The role supports comprehensive and sub-specialty clinics including retina, cornea, oculoplastics, pediatrics and glaucoma.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Ophthalmic Technician program or equivalent
• Current COA certification or higher preferred
• AA in Ophthalmic Technology or BA/BS in Healthcare or related field with clinical testing experience

Responsibilities

• Perform pre-exam testing: history taking, visual acuity, horizontal/vertical confrontation tests
• Conduct tests: refractometry, HVF/GVF, keratometry, OCT imaging
• Assist with minor surgical procedures or office laser treatments
• Handle prescription refills, prior authorizations, triage calls
• Maintain instrument sterility, manage lanes, monitor expirations
• Adhere to hospital safety procedures
