NVISION Eye Centers in San Antonio, TX, seeks an Ophthalmology Technician to perform workups, educate patients, and follow up with potential patients. You will collect medical history, run diagnostic tests, and assist the doctor during exams and procedures.

The role requires precise measurements, patient communication, and preparation for surgeries, including instrument handling and pre/post-operative care.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience as Ophthalmology Technician.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Desire to provide an exceptional patient experience.
• Bilingual (Spanish/English) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensures that all forms are complete and pertinent information has been recorded.
• Maintains outcome data.
• Performs measurements in auto refracs, topographical mapping, wavefront analysis, lensometry, pachymetry, and visual acuities.
• Evaluates and measures pupil size and responses; uses a slit lamp microscope, applanation tonometer, and instills eye drops properly.
• Understands all equipment and instruments used in the center, including the LASIK suite.
• Provides pre/post-operative care instructions.
• Assists in surgery by preparing the laser room with supplies and sterile equipment.
• Stocks all medication and medical supplies, proactively planning the work week to ensure task completion.
• Calls to request pre/post-ops on surgery patients.
• Orders all medical supplies.
• Keeps up with regular and emergency maintenance on medical equipment.
• Assists in other areas as needed.
