Wills Eye Hospital is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join multiple locations across the greater Philadelphia area. You will perform preliminary ocular assessments, pupil dilation, tonometry, lensometry, and basic refractions under supervision, delivering compassionate patient care in a fast-paced clinic.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to detail, and effective communication with patients and providers in a modern ophthalmology setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) after two years on the job required.
• Two years of clinical/healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to the physician with examination procedures and other patient care activities as requested.
• Oversees the efficient flow of patients through the eye clinic, assuring resources are sufficient and patients directed appropriately.
• Performs lensometry readings including multifocal/progressive adds and axis power orientation.
• Performs intraocular pressure assessments with applanation tonometry and tonopen.
• Instills dilating drops per physician instructions.
• Interacts professionally with staff and other health professionals.
• Ensures exam rooms are stocked with instruments, handouts, and required materials.
