Job summary

Wills Eye Hospital in King of Prussia, PA is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to perform preliminary ocular assessments under the direct supervision of ophthalmology providers. This full-time, 40-hours-per-week role focuses on patient interaction and foundational eye care skills.

You will conduct history taking, acuity testing, tonometry, pupil dilation, and assist in various diagnostic procedures while contributing to a collaborative clinical team dedicated to high-quality eye care.

Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) after two years on the job required.
• Two years of clinical/healthcare experience preferred.
• Excellent communication and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to the physician with examination procedures and other patient care activities as requested.
• Oversees the efficient flow of patients through the eye clinic, assuring resources for scheduled patients.
• Performs lensometry and autorefractometry as directed.
• Performs intraocular pressure assessments with tonometry.
• Instills dilating drops per physician's instructions.
