Job summary

Fraser Eye Care Center in Michigan is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. You will perform diagnostic tests ordered by physicians and manage patient data using our EMR system while delivering compassionate patient care.

The role requires strong communication, ability to work independently and in a team, and flexibility to support multiple Fraser Eye Care Center locations. Prior COA/COT certification is preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certification in COA or COT preferred.
• Proficient with computers and EMR systems.
• Ability to perform diagnostic testing and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient's chief complaint, history and medical background.
• Perform vision acuity testing and refractions.
• Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, Pentacam, IOL Master, iTrace, Optos fundus and angiography.
• Manage patient data in the EMR system.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Collaborate with team in a fast-paced environment.
• Work across multiple Fraser Eye Care Center locations.

Position Summary

Fraser Eye Care Center is seeking an experienced Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care by conducting various ophthalmic diagnostic tests ordered by the physician and manage patient data using our electronic medical record system.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient's chief complaint, present illness, and medical history.
• Perform vision acuity and refractions.
• Conduct ophthalmic diagnostic tests such as visual fields, OCT, Pentacam, IOL Master, iTrace, Optos fundus, and angiography, as ordered by the physician.
• Manage patient data efficiently using the electronic medical record system.
• Provide excellent customer service to patients.
• Work collaboratively within a team environment.
• Multi-task and thrive in a busy, fast-paced setting.
