Job summary

Eye Health Vision Centers is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support patient exams in our Taunton, MA area locations and surrounding communities, including Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River and Middletown RI. You will prep patients, assist physicians, perform routine vision screenings and handle instrument maintenance.

The role requires ability to travel between sites, excellent customer service, and readiness to learn. Training is provided; medical experience is a plus but not required.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to obtain patient medical history and document information in the EHR system.
  • Willingness to be trained; prior medical experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination and treatment rooms and assist during patient visits.
  • Conduct screening/testing including visual acuity, color vision, auto-lensometry, autorefraction, tonometry, and Amsler grid.
  • Administer eye medications and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
  • Travel to other locations as needed for business requirements.

Salary Range: $20.00 To $26.00 Hourly

Eye Health Vision Centers have been proudly providing the Dartmouth, Fairhaven, Fall River, Taunton MA and Middletown RI communities with advanced technology and eye care services for over four decades.

The Ophthalmic Technician performs a range of duties which includes preparing the patient to see Attending Physician (preliminary exam, medical history, & testing), preparation of examination and treatment rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • ObtainmedicalandeyehistoryfrompatientanddocumentinformationusingtheEHRsystem
  • Prepareexaminationandtreatmentrooms
  • Performscreeningandtesting(willtrain)topreparethepatientfordoctor'sexamincludingvisual acuity, color vision testing, auto-lensometry, autorefraction, tonometry, Amsler grid, pupil evaluation, and other testing as needed
  • Willtraintomaintainandcalibrateophthalmicandsurgicalinstruments
  • Musthaveaclearunderstandingofcompanypoliciesincludingthecompanymanual
  • You will be required to travel to other location for business needs.

Education and Experience:
