Job summary

Koch Eye Associates in Cranston, RI is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support physicians with preliminary exams, medical history intake, and testing.   • Prepare examination and treatment rooms.
  • Perform screening and testing (will train) including visual acuity, color vision, auto-lensometry, autorefraction, tonometry, Amsler grid, pupil evaluation, and other testing as needed.
  • Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments.
  • Travel to other locations for business needs.

We began our practice in 1981 out of a small office in Warwick, and now we have eight locations spanning Warwick, Cranston, North Kingstown, Wakefield, and Woonsocket. Our dedicated team of ophthalmologists and optometrists is devoted to providing top-notch, stress-free care to our patients.

The Ophthalmic Technician performs a range of duties which includes preparing the patient to see Attending Physician (preliminary exam, medical history, & testing), preparation of examination and treatment rooms, performing basic and routine vision screening examinations, administering eye medications, cleaning and maintaining ophthalmic instruments and assisting physicians during minor surgical and laser procedures.

Duties/Responsibilities:
