Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to join our team in San Antonio, TX. The role involves performing preliminary eye examinations and diagnostic tests under an ophthalmologist, recording medical histories, and educating patients about post-operative care.

You will prepare exam rooms, sterilize equipment, conduct visual acuity and tonometry tests, and maintain electronic medical records while traveling up to 25% of the time.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as an ophthalmic technician preferred.
• Previous experience in a medical setting, preferably in ophthalmology or optometry.
• Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures.
• Familiarity with medical coding and billing practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately record patient information.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism and patient care.
