Qualifications

  • Experience as an Ophthalmic Technician in a large ophthalmology office or similar setting.
  • Knowledge of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • COT certification is preferred but not required.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional ophthalmic training/certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-examination procedures including visual acuity testing, visual field testing, and intraocular pressure measurement.
  • Assist ophthalmologists during patient exams by preparing patients and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain ophthalmic instruments such as slit lamps, autorefractors, and retinal cameras.
  • Collect and document patient medical histories and ocular information accurately.
  • Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of ophthalmic instruments and exam rooms.
  • Schedule patient appointments and assist with patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
  • Educate patients on eye care procedures and post-exam instructions as directed by the physician.
  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safety standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment and possess strong technical skills to assist ophthalmologists in delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
