Are you passionate about delivering exceptional patient care and looking to grow your career in a supportive, professional medical environment? The Eye Care Institute is seeking a dedicated Ophthalmic Technician to join our clinic team.
In this vital role, you’ll work directly with patients and physicians, performing essential clinical duties to prepare patients for their examinations and assist with in-office procedures. If you thrive in a fast-paced setting, have strong attention to detail, and take pride in providing compassionate, efficient care — we want to meet you.
Position Overview
As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will:
️ Conduct preliminary eye exams and patient screenings.
️ Clearly communicate eye health information and care instructions to patients.
️ Administer topical medications and assist with in-office surgical and laser procedures.
️ Triage acute patient concerns over the phone and help manage timely scheduling.
️ Ensure accurate documentation and maintain patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Minimum of 1 year experience as an ophthalmic or optometric technician or in a clinical setting (preferred).
Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification is a plus — or the willingness to obtain within 18 months of hire.
Excellent communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a professional medical team.
