Job summary

Comprehensive EyeCare Partners in Austin, TX is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician to support ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions. You will perform specialized eye exam testing and help streamline patient flow across the clinic. Responsibilities include additional diagnostic testing (visual fields, OCT, corneal topography), assisting with inventory, processing prescription refills as authorized, and complying with HIPAA to protect patient privacy.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required or preferred.
• COA certification preferred (not required).
• Experience as ophthalmic technician or similar role is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions.
• Perform specialized eye exam testing and help streamline patient flow.
• May assist with inventory of ophthalmic supplies and instruments.
• Provide phone support for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.

They perform various clinical and technical duties to ensure the efficient delivery of eye care services.Work Hours: Monday - Friday: 8AM to 5PMRoles and ResponsibilitiesAbility to perform specialized eye exam testing while streamlining patient flow.Other diagnostic testing may include: Visual fields, OCT, Corneal Topography, Venipuncture, etc..May assist with inventory of ophthalmic supplies, including pharmaceuticals and instruments on a regular basis.Provides phone support with request for prescription refills as authorized by the physician.Adhere to legal and regulatory requirements, such as HIPPA guidelines, to maintain patient confidentially and privacy.May perform other duties as necessaryExperience RequirementsOne year experience as an ophthalmic technician requiredOne year experience in a customer facing position preferredEducation RequirementsHigh school diploma or GED preferredCertified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification preferredPhysical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
