Job summary

AVP•SEES Group is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician I to join our clinical team, supporting diagnostic testing and patient care across SEES Eye Care locations. The role emphasizes accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent customer service while contributing to efficient patient flow.

You will document patient histories, assist with refractions and tonometry, administer eye drops, maintain equipment, and enter data in the EMR system, traveling between multiple offices as needed.

Qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration or related field preferred.
  • 2–3 years ophthalmic/optometric technician experience preferred.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to follow precise protocols.
  • Willingness to travel between multiple locations as needed.
  • Work independently while collaborating with the healthcare team.
  • Strong organizational skills in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain and document comprehensive patient history with accuracy.
  • Follow office workup protocols to support patient flow.
  • Determine visual acuity and perform automated refraction.
  • Administer eye drops, ointments, and irrigating solutions as prescribed.
  • Measure intraocular pressure (tonometry) accurately.
  • Prepare patients for pre-operative procedures as directed.
  • Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic equipment and instruments.
  • Enter data into the EMR system and provide direct patient services.
  • Report test results inconsistencies to medical personnel.
  • Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
  • Seek instruction when needed and stay informed on ophthalmic practices.
  • Travel to various office locations as required.
