Retina Associates of Kentucky is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe in Louisville, KY. The role focuses on efficient documentation and EMR management to help physicians concentrate on patient care. Regular travel between nearby offices is required, with mileage reimbursement provided.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED and at least one year of related experience. Ophthalmic Scribe Certification is preferred but not required, and a strong commitment to HIPAA is essential.

Qualifications

• Must understand medical terminology and common abbreviations.
• Efficient EMR use and accurate data recording.
• Strong typing, spelling and grammar with good communication.
• Ability to coordinate with health-care team and protect patient info.
• Organizational focus on patient flow and care.
• HIPAA confidentiality compliance is essential.

Responsabilités

• Accurately document medical visits and procedures as performed.
• Manage EMR of patients and ensure proper coding.
• Input ICD-9 codes and charges for procedures/drugs.
• Anticipate physician needs to maintain clinic flow.
• Open/close exam rooms as needed and support testing.
• Maintain discretion to avoid distracting staff.
• Travel between offices within mileage reimbursement policy.
