Retina Specialist of Ohio/Corrective Eye is seeking an Ophthalmic Scribe for our ophthalmology team in Willoughby Hills. The role focuses on documenting visits, managing EMR, and supporting physician workflow across locations, including travel to Mayfield Heights, Parma, Independence and Streetsboro with mileage reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Has working knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
• Efficient in using EMR and accurately recording information.
• Good typing, spelling, grammar and oral communication skills.
• Able to communicate and coordinate with multiple health-care team members.
• Organized with focus on tracking patient care and improving flow.
• Complies with HIPAA confidentiality standards.
• Provides excellent patient care with empathy and energy.
• Maintains positive rapport with colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Accurately document medical visits and procedures as performed by the physician.
• Operate the EMR for patient records.
• Input ICD-9/diagnosis codes when appropriate in the EMR.
• Ensure correct procedure coding and diagnosis codes for all patients.
• Anticipate physician needs to facilitate clinic flow.
• Open and close exam rooms as needed.
• Assist with testing and maintain clinic flow.
• Maintain discretion to avoid distracting staff.
• Demonstrate organization and self-motivation in duties.
• Willingness to travel between offices.
