Job summary

Eye Specialists Of Illinois is seeking a Medical/Ophthalmic Scribe to support physicians before, during, and after patient examinations in a busy ophthalmology practice.

Responsibilities include rooming patients, taking live dictation into the EMR, entering data, and providing clinical and administrative support. Training is provided for ophthalmic testing such as OCT, HVF, AR, and Fundus Photography.

Qualifications

• Strong writing skills.
• Fast and accurate typing; strong computer skills.
• Experience with medical terminology.
• Ability to stand, walk and follow a physician for extended periods.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with a professional demeanor and good communications.
• Experience with EMR.
• Excellent customer service and organizational skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ophthalmology or optometric background a plus.

Responsibilities

• Working one-on-one with physician in the office setting.
• Assisting physician and providers in rooming patients.
• Taking live dictation from the physician directly into the EMR during physician- patient encounters
• Entering data into EMR before, during and after patient visits.
• Providing clinical and administrative support as needed to physician and office team.
• Performing ophthalmic testing when not scribing for the physician
• Testing includes OCT, HVF, AR, Topography, Fundus Photography (training on the job)
