Job summary

Ophthalmic Scribe (Temp) position in Huntington, NY. You will accompany physicians during exams, document real-time patient interactions, and assist with testing and procedures.

The role involves preparing patient charts, accurately documenting physician-patient interactions, tracking orders, and educating patients on procedures and medications. Temporary position with potential to become permanent.

Qualifications

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Knowledge of ocular pharmacology is a plus (not required).
• Ability to stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 10 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient charts/EMRs and exam rooms.
• Accurately document physician-patient interactions.
• Track orders, prescriptions, and testing.
• Perform ophthalmic testing & work up (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, VF, etc.).
• Educate patients on procedures, testing, and prescriptions.
• Audit charts for accuracy.
• Provide exceptional patient care and service.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Ophthalmic Scribes play a key role in supporting our providers and patients. You'll accompany physicians during exams, document real-time patient interactions, and assist with testing and procedures.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Prepare patient charts/EMRs and exam rooms
• Accurately document physician-patient interactions
• Track orders, prescriptions, and testing
• Perform ophthalmic testing & work up (visual acuity, tonometry, dilation, OCT, VF, etc.)
• Educate patients on procedures, testing, and prescriptions
• Audit charts for accuracy
• Provide exceptional patient care and service
