Job summary

Inland Eye Specialists in Murrieta, California, seeks a patient-focused ophthalmic scribe for a temporary, part-time role. You will document examinations, maintain patient flow, and support physicians with accurate charting in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients, staff, managers, and doctors.
• Must be willing to travel to other offices occasionally to meet the demands of business.
• NextGen or applicable EHR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make introductions and establish rapport with patients.
• Document chief complaint, history, review of systems, and ocular findings accurately.
• Document medical visits and procedures as performed by the physician.
• Communicate with patients regarding follow up care, surgeries, procedures, and schedule changes.
• Maintain and clean ophthalmic equipment.
• Apply correct ICD-10 and CPT codes.
• Navigate NextGen or applicable EHR effectively.
• Assist with prescription refills with full documentation.
• Educate patients regarding administration of medications.
• Maintain inventory of medications and supplies.
• Open and close exam lanes and ensure equipment is properly stored and powered off.
