Job summary

Eyecare Associates of East Texas is seeking a Pre-Test Technician in Tyler, TX. The role supports ophthalmologists by performing initial testing and preparing patients for exams, while delivering excellent patient care.

Responsibilities include patient greeting, data entry into the EMR, and operation of ophthalmic diagnostic equipment. A HS diploma and 1 year of related experience are required; OT may be needed. Benefits are provided and the role offers full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1 year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Desire to gain industry knowledge and training.
• Ability to work overtime when the business is in need.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service during every patient encounter (in person or via phone).
• Greet patients promptly with a smile and thank them when they leave.
• Practice urgency to respect patient and doctor schedules.
• Comply with HIPAA and company policies.
• Verify patient information by interviewing patients and recording medical history.
• Record data in EMR and ensure accuracy of patient records.
• Assist in pre-testing procedures using ophthalmic equipment.
• Maintain clean and organized work area and support staff as needed.
