Job summary

Northwest Eye Surgeons, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide specialized nursing care in our Ambulatory Surgery Center. You will deliver safe, high-quality patient care according to physician orders, standards, state regulations, and policies.

Qualifications

• ACLS and AED certifications required.
• Knowledge of sterile techniques and ophthalmic procedures.
• Understanding of handling surgical instruments and specimens.
• Ability to anticipate the needs of the surgical team.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Google Workspace.
• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct preoperative and postoperative patient calls.
• Admit, assess, monitor, and discharge patients.
• Obtain and document patient histories, symptoms, and conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physicians.
• Provide intraoperative circulating services.
• Assist with conscious sedation when trained and authorized.
• Serve as Infection Control Specialist when assigned.
• Develop patient care plans with physicians and healthcare professionals.
• Perform diagnostic tests and communicate needs to the team.
• Maintain medical records per regulations and procedures.
• Educate patients and families on treatments and postoperative care.
• Maintain knowledge of surgical instruments and OR setup.
• Follow aseptic techniques, instrument processing, and sterilization.
• Stay current with nursing practices related to OS care.
• Complete continuing education and competency assessments.
