Job summary

Northwest Eyes is seeking a Per Diem Registered Nurse to join our ASC team. We provide ACLS/BLS training, licensure reimbursement, and uniforms. The RN will support preop/postop calls, admissions, and intraoperative circulation within a fast-paced ophthalmic surgical environment.

The ideal candidate has current RN licensure, ACLS/AED, and OR/ophthalmic experience, with strong communication and teamwork skills. Per diem hours offer flexibility within our progressive eye-care practice.

Qualifications

• ACLS and AED certification required
• Experience with conscious sedation preferred
• Knowledge of sterile technique for OR and ophthalmic procedures
• Understanding ophthalmic procedures and OR patient positioning
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal
• Ability to work independently or lead a team in a fast-paced setting

Responsibilities

• Preoperative and postoperative patient calls
• Patient admission and discharge
• Record and analyze patient histories and conditions
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered by physician
• Intraoperative circulation and potential conscious sedation
• Oversee infection control practices and independent tasks
• Create patient care plans with other healthcare professionals
• Discuss treatment plans with physicians and pharmacists
• Educate patients and families about treatments
• Maintain instrument and OR setup knowledge
• Research nursing developments relevant to OR nursing
• Complete continuing education
• Adhere to HIPAA, OSHA, WISHA, and insurance requirements
• Oversee medical assistants and surgical technicians
