Job summary

Unifeye Vision Partners in Colton, CA is hiring an Instrument Technician to support the operating room. You will assist with anesthesia supplies, stock procedures, and help prepare beds, equipment, and sterile fields for surgeries, while upholding aseptic standards.

The role requires completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program or at least one year of surgical tech experience; ophthalmology experience is highly preferred, with BCLS certification either current or obtainable within 60

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Surgical Technician program and/or a minimum of one-year experience as a Surgical Technician.
• Ophthalmology experience strongly preferred.
• Current BCLS certification required or must be obtained within the first 60 days of employment.
• Surgical Technician certification is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promotes the mission, vision and values of the company.
• Gathers needed procedure appropriate supplies for each surgery.
• Opens surgical supplies, sets up sterile field and maintains sterile field using aseptic technique.
• Anticipates the surgeons instrument/tray needs prior to their immediate need.
• Updates surgeon preference cards as needed.
• Reports missing or malfunctioning equipment and instruments to the OR Manager in a timely manner.
• Operates equipment required to perform job in a safe and efficient manner.
• Disposes of sharps and hazardous materials according to policy and utilizes PPE.
• Washes and reprocesses instrumentation according to established standards and ASC policy.

Education

Surgical Technician program

1+ year Surgical Technician experience

Ophthalmology experience preferred
