Job summary

EssilorLuxottica's TeamVision is seeking a Surgical Technician to support ophthalmic surgeries. You will prepare the operating room, maintain a sterile field, and assist surgeons by passing instruments and supplies before, during, and after procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma, current BLS/CPR, and at least 1 year of intraoperative experience in a medical or ophthalmic setting. Strong teamwork and the ability to stay calm under pressure are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current BLS and CPR certification.
• Minimum of one year of intraoperative support experience in ophthalmic or medical setting.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Effective communication and time management skills.
• Ability to stand and move in operating room for extended periods.
• Open availability and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room with sterile instruments and equipment.
• Maintain sterile field during procedures and follow infection control standards.
• Provide intraoperative instrument passes and anticipate surgeon needs.
• Assist with pre-operative prep and reinforce post-operative instructions.
• Monitor environment and report safety concerns or equipment issues.
• Communicate clearly with surgeons, patients and staff for smooth operations.
• Verify patient identity, procedure and site; assist with positioning and comfort.
• Manage surgical inventory and biohazard material handling.
