Job summary

Rochester Regional Health's Ophthalmology department seeks an Ophthalmic Imaging Specialist to perform advanced ocular imaging and diagnostic testing, aiding in diagnosis and patient care. The role demands strong imaging skills, teamwork, and patient communication.

The position is full-time (40 hours/week) at Pittsford, with a schedule Monday–Friday, 8a–5p. Candidates should have a biomedical photography background or OCT-C/Certified Ophthalmic Assistant credentials and ophthalmology experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or OCT-C certification or Certified Ophthalmic Assistant required.
• If hired after 05/01/2026, must have 2 years ophthalmology experience.

Responsibilities

• Perform OCT imaging and photography on multiple imaging modalities (fundus photography, FAF, FA/ICG, anterior and posterior OCT).
• Perform ophthalmic diagnostic testing including IOL Master, Ascan, topography, pachymetry, specular microscopy, visual fields, tonometry, PAM, BAT, and acuity projection.
• Continuously evaluate imaging quality and collaborate with teammates to improve processes.
• Maintain a case database for education and journal references for physicians.
• Train established and new technicians on imaging and diagnostic equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.
