Rochester Regional Health in Potsdam is seeking an Ophthalmology Tech to support daily patient care in the Optical department. The role requires knowledge of ophthalmic practice, instrumentation, patient safety, and effective communication with patients and staff.

You will promptly assist the doctor, manage patient flow, perform basic eye tests and imaging, sterilize instruments, and maintain exam rooms and equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or preferred.
• Ambulatory medical setting experience preferred.
• Ability to work in a team environment.
• Friendly, courteous, patient service-oriented.
• Certified Ophthalmic Assistant within 24 months of hire preferred.

Responsabilités

• Assist the doctor in patient care promptly and professionally.
• Manage patient flow and scheduling within the optical department.
• Demonstrate knowledge of eye anatomy, diseases, symptoms, and ocular medications.
• Obtain medical, ocular, and social history from patients and document properly.
• Perform visual acuity testing at distance and near; conduct ocular motility and pupillary exams.
