Job summary

UVA Health in Charlottesville is seeking an Ophthalmic Photographer to support the clinical evaluation and treatment of eye conditions through high-quality diagnostic imaging. You will work closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, and staff to ensure accurate data collection and a positive patient experience in a specialized ophthalmology setting.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 1 year of relevant ophthalmic imaging experience preferred.
• COA certification by JCAHPO may be required; see requisition for details.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic diagnostic imaging including fundus photography, OCT, OCT-A, fluorescein angiography, external photography, and corneal topography/tomography.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide clear instructions to ensure high-quality results.
• Review images for accuracy and proper labeling before uploading to the EMR.
• Collaborate with ophthalmologists, optometrists, technicians, and clinical staff to meet patient care needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment and support quality control standards.
• Assist with imaging workflow education and training for clinical staff as appropriate.
• Support documentation, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research activities as needed.
• Contribute to a fast-paced, specialized clinical environment focused on teamwork and patient safety.
