Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma.
• Experience: At least one year of relevant experience, more preferred.
• Licensure: COA-Certified Ophthalmic Assistant Certification by JCAHPO may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform ophthalmic diagnostic imaging including fundus photography, OCT, OCT-A, fluorescein angiography, external photography, corneal topography/tomography.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide clear instructions for high-quality results.
• Review images for accuracy and quality and upload to the EMR with proper labeling.
• Collaborate with providers and care teams to complete imaging efficiently and aligned with patient care needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment and support quality control standards.
• Assist with imaging workflow education and training for clinic staff as appropriate.
• Support documentation, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research activities as needed.
• Contribute to a fast-paced, highly specialized clinical environment focused on teamwork, patient safety, innovation, and continuous learning.

The Role

As an Ophthalmic Photographer, you will perform a variety of specialized diagnostic imaging procedures that support the clinical evaluation and treatment of patients with ophthalmic conditions. Working closely with ophthalmologists, optometrists, technicians, and clinical staff, you will help ensure the accurate collection and management of imaging data while contributing to an efficient and positive patient experience.

In an average day, you will:

• Perform ophthalmic diagnostic imaging including fundus photography, OCT, OCT-A, fluorescein angiography, external photography, corneal topography/tomography, and other specialty imaging as needed.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures and provide clear instructions to ensure high-quality diagnostic results.
• Review images for accuracy and quality, ensuring studies are appropriately labeled and uploaded into the electronic medical record.
• Collaborate with providers and care teams to ensure imaging is completed efficiently and aligned with patient care needs.
• Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment while supporting quality control standards.
• Assist with imaging workflow education and training for clinical staff as appropriate.
• Support documentation, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical research activities when needed.
