Job summary

The Johns Hopkins University Ophthalmic Photographer is sought to provide clinical and research diagnostic images used by ophthalmic personnel in managing patients with various ocular conditions. You will use multiple imaging systems and cross-train to support physicians in clinic and in research services.

Responsibilities include performing color fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, OCT, and other imaging procedures, plus image management and CPR certification maintenance.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Imaging/technician experience in a clinical office setting is preferred.
  • Certification as COA/COT/COMT/ROUB/CRT/OCT-C/CRA required or to be obtained within 18 months of hire.
  • Additional education may substitute for required experience as allowed by JHU policy.

Responsibilities

  • Proficiently performs color retinal fundus photography, fluorescein angiography, ICG angiography, slit lamp photography, and OCT/OCT-A.
  • Works in external clinics and operating rooms as needed.
  • Works independently at Wilmer satellite locations.
  • Provides front desk coverage when needed.
  • Uses specular microscopy and manages digital images/files.
  • Maintains CPR certification.
  • Participates in research imaging and acquires certifications from ophthalmic reading centers.
  • Cross covers as ophthalmic technician in retina, Visual Neurophysiology, and ultrasound services.
