Job summary

Ohio State University Physicians is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician for on-site care in Columbus, OH. The role involves taking patient histories, preparing patients for physician visits, and performing imaging and diagnostic tests.

The ideal candidate has ophthalmic technician/assistant experience, completion of training, and COA is a plus. The position supports a diverse patient population with emphasis on quality care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Minimum HS Diploma or equivalent.
• One-year experience as Ophthalmic Technician or Ophthalmic Assistant OR two years as a technician in an Optometry Clinic.
• Completion of OSUP’s Ophthalmic Personnel Training Program.
• COA preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interact professionally and compassionately with patients daily.
• Perform diagnostic Visual Field Testing: Humphrey, Octopus and Goldman Fields.
• Document ophthalmic imaging including OCT, Topography, Pachymetry and IOL Master.
• Enter information into Electronic Medical Record.
• Travel to other facilities as staffing requires.
• Maintain clean and stocked exam rooms.
