Job summary

Tufts Medicine is seeking an Ophthalmic Clinical Technician to support patient care in a fast-paced ophthalmology setting in Boston. You will conduct patient histories, perform screenings and assist with diagnostic imaging under physician supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing exam rooms, assisting with procedures, and documenting findings in the Electronic Health Record. Prior ophthalmic experience and BLS are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One (1) year of experience in healthcare related setting.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification OR Obtain within three (3) months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Obtains patient history including chief complaint, medications, allergies, and ocular/general medical history.
• Performs screening tests such as visual acuity, lensometry, refraction, keratometry, pupil evaluation, and intraocular pressure measurement.
• Performs and assists with diagnostic tests and ocular imaging (OCT, Topography, Visual Fields, IOL Master).
• Prepares consent forms and assists physician with in-office procedures as needed.
• Maintains clean, stocked exam rooms and ensures proper cleaning/disinfection of instruments.
