Responsibilities

• Support efficient patient flow by coordinating testing and adjusting the sequence of activities based on patient needs and physician direction.
• Adjust testing and patient care activities based on patient responses and condition, within established protocols.
• Follow infection prevention and control policies to promote a safe environment for patients, families, and staff.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the patient health record.
• Follow professional standards, organizational policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
• Provide respectful, patient-centered support to patients and families throughout their visit.

Job Summary

The Ophthalmic Assistant supports patients and families throughout their visit in the outpatient ophthalmology clinic. Working as part of the care team, this role performs clinical testing, documents patient information, supports patient flow, and helps ensure patients receive safe, efficient, and compassionate care.

Experience

• Previous experience in an ophthalmic or healthcare-related setting preferred.
• 0-1 year of experience preferred.

• Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
