Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED; Bachelor's degree in relevant discipline preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience
• OAII Experience: 2+ years of prior ophthalmic assistant experience

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy.
• Take ocular and systemic history and record visual acuity.
• Perform testing required by exam type (OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry).
• Perform lensometry, refractometry, slit lamp exams and basic muscle balance testing.
• Act as scribe during physician exams, entering data into EMR or paper charts.
• Administer topical ophthalmic or oral medications.
• Assist with ensuring procedures and informed consent are followed.
• Assist with patient education.
• Oversee patient flow throughout the day.
