Job summary

Responsibilities include chart reviews, history taking, tests (OCT, visual fields, biometry), scribing, medication administration, and maintaining exam room standards and patient education.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience
• OAII Experience: 2+ years ophthalmic assistant experience
• Accuracy in documenting patient information and maintaining EMR records.
• Ability to perform ophthalmic testing and document results accurately.

Responsibilities

• Review patient charts for completeness and accuracy.
• Record ocular and systemic history and visual acuity.
• Perform testing such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, and biometry.
• Conduct slit lamp exams and related assessments.
• Assist physician as scribe and enter data in EMR.
• Administer medications as prescribed.
• Ensure informed consent and patient education.
• Manage patient flow and maintain exam rooms.
