Job summary

The Retina Group of Washington is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to assist physicians with measurements and tests used for diagnosing and prescribing treatment. You will document results and maintain high-quality patient care while supporting efficient clinic flow.

Responsibilities include history taking, recording visual acuity, performing multiple tests (OCT, fields, photography, tonometry), and acting as a scribe. Excellent attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Graduate or GED; Bachelor’s preferred.
• OA1 Experience: 0-2 years ophthalmic assistant experience.
• Ability to follow procedures, document accurately and maintain patient privacy.

Responsibilities

• Reviews patient charts to ensure completeness and accuracy of information.
• Takes ocular and systemic history and records visual acuity.
• Performs testing such as OCT, visual fields, photography, pachymetry, biometry.
• Acts as a scribe entering data into EMR or paper charts.
