Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 1 year ophthalmic experience and completion of a certified assistant program or equivalent.
• COA certification through JCAHPO required and must be maintained throughout employment. BLS certification (AHA or ARC) required.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced medical history and ophthalmic testing (visual acuity, dilations, slit-lamp exam, visual fields, color vision, lensometry, tonometry, keratometry, refractometry).
• Assist with office surgical procedures and maintain patient records.
• Prepare and sterilize instruments, maintain exam rooms and answer patient questions.
