Job summary

Allina Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant to support patient care in Hastings, MN with coverage at Bandana Square clinic. This role performs ocular testing, prepares patients for exams and surgeries, and assists with in-office procedures.

You will coordinate referrals, scheduling, and postoperative visits while ensuring rooms are clean and stocked. The position offers 1.0 FTE (80 hours per two-week pay period), day shifts (8- and 12-hour), and no weekend work, with floating coverage

Qualifications

• 0–2 years medical/optical experience required.
• 0–2 years familiarity with pre-certification and payer requirements.
• Able to communicate with patients and coordinate care.

Responsibilities

• Performs patient preparation, assessments and eye exams.
• Assists with in-office surgical procedures and foreign body removals.
• Schedules surgeries and handles perioperative/postoperative visits and referrals.
• Manages department supplies and maintains equipment.
• Opens and closes patient rooms and trains on lens insertion/removal.
