Job summary

The Cleveland Clinic Avon Lake Family Health Center seeks a Non-Certified Ophthalmic Assistant to join the Eye Surgery team. You will support ophthalmologists by performing clinical and administrative tasks, ensuring patients are prepared and comfortable throughout exams and procedures.

Responsibilities include assisting with examinations, conducting ophthalmic tests, documenting patient information, and handling clerical duties.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• One year of ophthalmic patient-care experience OR formal Ophthalmology training.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.

Responsibilities

• Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
• Perform initial patient examinations, ophthalmic testing procedures and routine screening tests.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Document patient information in their medical record.
• Perform clerical, stocking, maintenance and related duties.
