Job summary

American Vision Partners seeks an Ophthalmic Assistant to prepare patients for exams, gather medical information, and perform preliminary tests with a focus on excellent patient care. You will assist in clinical procedures and support doctors to maintain smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in ophthalmology, are detail-oriented, and can multitask in a fast-paced environment. Monday–Friday schedule with opportunities for growth and continued education.

Qualifications

• Welcomes patients with a warm disposition.
• Obtains patient histories and records in EHR.
• Performs visual acuity, refraction, keratometry, and tonometry tests.
• Maintains exam rooms and sterilization protocols.

Responsibilities

• Welcomes patients and maintains clinic flow.
• Obtains patient histories through intake assessments and records findings in EHR.
• Performs visual acuity, auto-refraction, lensesometry, keratometry, and tonometry tests.
• Educates patients on ophthalmic conditions and consent for procedures.
• Assists in minor office procedures and maintains patient comfort.
